newb questions
hi all, just got the game and am blundering my way around but seem to have managed to get to lvl5 with my elementalist/monk.
questions though; i have 6 skills at the moment, are these only availible from quests and is there no choice or is it all the same/random? i keep dying doing the monks quest in the catacombs, from the poison water.dont seem to be able to heal myself let alone follow the npc to keep him alive. any tips? can i buy an extra bag anywhere, havent seen a merchant who sells them(or much else useful except salvage/identify) roughly how many quests are there for me to do do before i progress to the big bad world? i have been collecting loads of stuff and selling it or salvaging bits, the crafter in ascalon doesnt have anything of any use to me, are there others i havent seen yet? thanks |

hehe, I read people left because they thought pre-searing was the game.
Oh well, they can always come back |

Truth be told
I cannot think of a better tutorial than pre-searing Ascalon. You can take your time, or get it all done as quick as possible. If you want to take your time, you get some great backstory.
It is also a very nice separation between new players and the big dogs...even the big dogs are little there. Good luck! |

Another newbie query
Greetings Everyone.
My wife scandalously purchased Guild Wars behind my back the other day and showed me the joy of GW. I played for a few hours this morning building up a character, but I've since learned that in order to play together, I'll have to go purchase my own copy for my computer. (No problem there, I appreciate the no-monthly-fee thing.) My question is, now that I've sunk a few hours into that character on her account, is there a way to transfer "my" character to my new account once I buy and install GW on my computer? Thanks in Advance... |

There is a log in and password. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do this. I doubt you will both be able to play at the same time though if you are on her account.

As far as I know, no...there is no way to transfer a character to a different account. Perhaps you can send an e-mail to GW support. My girlfriend and I ran into the same situation...we stopped playing her character cause it was essentially pointless...so she started over and built up a new character when we got another copy. Glad to hear you like the game Freud!

And no, I don't think you can transfer characters. On the plus side, it really easy to work through the game, so it won't take too long to get another character going. |

Follow-Up
Got a pretty quick response. Just posting it to save someone else the trouble.
/quote Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support team on this. All characters are linked to the account they were created on. At this time, there is no way to transfer a character from one account to another. You can, however, create the character on your own account. Once you delete the character on your wife's account the name will be released after 60 minutes, but you will have to begin again. If there are any changes to this in the future, the details will be posted on our website (http://www.guildwars.com/). //quote C'est la vie... Happy hunting everyone. |
